Throughout your course you have a range of information resources available to you as part of your membership - but don’t forget that you will have a local public library that may also be of assistance.

Specialist libraries

In this subject arena there are a several specialist libraries.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Information and Library Services are a uniquely focused resource based at Moor Hall. Whether it is a list of references on a topic, access to market research or the loan of books, the team will be able to assist (small charges may apply). The Advertising Association also has a range of services for students.

If you are working in an agency and it is a member of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, its library may be available to you. http://www.ipa.co.uk

Articles at your desk

As part of your CIM membership you have access to a range of journals, magazines and newspapers, on all topics, at your desk.

The databases of articles are available from an aggregator called EBSCO, and contain both academic and contemporary articles, plus a range of newspapers, company reports and country reports.

In addition, your CIM membership includes copies of the marketer. This is published 10 times per year and aims to keep you up-to-date with the marketing arena, give hints to develop your skills, and contains case studies. It will be delivered to your doorstep, plus a range of the articles are available at http://www.cim.co.uk/themarketer

Fact Files

The internet has a wealth of information, but knowing where to find it, or which site to believe, is often difficult. To assist students we have developed a range of Fact Files on topics as diverse as Data Protection, Newsletters & E-zines, Quotes, Market Research, and many more.
